Software Engineer

LufCo is a company supporting mission-driven national security initiatives through its National Security Solutions department. The Software Engineer will design, develop, test, and maintain complex software systems, algorithms, data repositories, and cloud-scale environments while providing technical leadership and ensuring performance, scalability, and operational excellence.

What you'll do:

• Analyze user and system requirements to derive complex software design, performance metrics and interface constraints
• Design, code, test and modify new software solutions or enhance existing software to adapt to new hardware, optimize performance, and integrate components into modified operating systems
• Develop and implement advanced mathematical algorithms, structural data repositories, and complex databased queries that meet strict timing and system resource boundaries
• Incorporate Commercial Off-the-shelf (COTS) and Government Off-the-shelf (GOTS) functionality to optimizr software design and architecture reuse
• Provide technical and strategic leadership to software development teams, delegate responsibilities, choose appopriate development processes, and perform rigorous quality control checks on final team deliverables

• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university
• 4 years of additional software engineering experience on projects with similar software processed may be substituted for a Bachelor's degree
• SWE0: 0+ years of experience as a Software Engineer, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required
• SWE1: 7+ years of experience as a Software Engineer, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required
• SWE2: 14+ years of experience as a Software Engineer, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required
• SWE3: 20+ years of experience as a Software Engineer, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required
• Core Engineering Languages: High proficiency in Java SE, Python, Git, Shell/bash scripting, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3
• Frameworks & Back-End: Practical knowledge of Spring Framework, Spring Tool Suite, Hibernate, MySQL, Web Services, Jenkins, Nexus, Maven, JUnit, and IDE environments
• Cloud & Devops: Hands-on experience with container platforms and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift) along with GitLab CI and SonarQube automated CI/CD deployment pipelines
• Methodology: Extensive experience operating within an Agile development framework to deploy a new functional capability inside every Sprint cycle
• Ability to travel as required
