Software Engineer

Cerbo · OptiMantra is a healthcare technology company providing electronic health record and practice management platforms for healthcare practices. The Software Engineer will develop and maintain scalable cloud-based software solutions, primarily focusing on backend platform development with some frontend work, while collaborating with senior engineers and cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle.

What you'll do:

• Develop and maintain full-stack applications using Java and Spring
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code
• Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback
• Support application deployment and ongoing maintenance
• Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and other developers, to ensure software solutions meet business requirements
• Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance
• Communicate with stakeholders, including management, customers, and other teams, to ensure software solutions meet their needs

What they're looking for:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work collaboratively in a remote team environment
• Eagerness to learn and grow under the mentorship of senior engineers
• Experience with tools such as Git, Docker, and Kubernetes
• Experience working with one or more cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and familiar with their services and APIs
• Ability to communicate technical information clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Demonstrated experience using AI coding assistants in a professional or project setting
• Ability to write clear, specific prompts that produce useful outputs
• Strong critical evaluation skills — able to identify subtle bugs, inefficiencies, or security issues in generated code
• Understanding of AI limitations, including hallucinations, outdated patterns, and context window constraints
• Location: 100% Remote. This position requires candidates to be available to work during Eastern (ET) business hours
