Software Engineer

Shift4 is a commerce-enabling technology company that simplifies complex payments ecosystems. The Software Engineer I will develop and maintain merchant-facing APIs, web interfaces, and CI/CD pipelines supporting third-party integrations, while collaborating across teams on deployment, issue resolution, documentation, project execution, and product releases.

What you'll do:

• Develop and maintain stable CI/CD pipelines for merchant-facing APIs and web interfaces that integrate with third-party brands
• Support internal teams by developing and deploying APIs that facilitate relationships with third-party brand integrations
• Provide timely and effective triage for issues escalated from the field regarding solutions developed by the Growth Solutions development team
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve issues and maintain high service quality for deployed solutions
• Create and maintain living, scalable, and easily distributable documentation for deployment and operations, ensuring clarity and accessibility for the development and operations teams
• Regularly update and improve documentation as new features and solutions are implemented
• Maintain aggressive timelines for assigned projects, ensuring timely delivery without compromising quality
• Communicate project status updates regularly to ensure alignment with stakeholders and track progress
• Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with technical team members across different brands and departments
• Facilitate smooth communication and cooperation to ensure that solutions are developed and deployed effectively
• Participate in product demos during each release cycle, providing valuable input and feedback for continuous product improvement
• Contribute to discussions around new features and enhancements, ensuring that technical aspects are accurately represented

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
• Experience in front-end design and development with JavaScript, React, Ember, CSS, and HTML, and single-page applications
• Experience with Node.js, REST APIs, webhooks and microservices
• Knowledge of source code management, unit testing, and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with relational databases and with MS SQL and/or PostgreSQL query languages
