Software Engineer, Entry Level

Naval Nuclear Laboratory develops and supports technology for the safe and reliable operation of the U.S. Navy’s naval nuclear reactors. The entry-level software engineer will design, develop, and support embedded, user interface, and internal software components for propulsion plant applications while applying modern software development, testing, and troubleshooting practices.

What you'll do:

• Design, develop, and support a catalog of embedded, user interface, and internal software components for use in various propulsion plant applications

What they're looking for:

• Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field; or Masters degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field
• GPA of 3.2 or higher
• Demonstrated understanding of Object-oriented programming (C++ preferred)
• Understanding of embedded software and basic programmable hardware
• Familiarity with modern software development processes and principles
• Demonstrated software troubleshooting and debugging skills
• All candidates must be U.S. citizens
• Preferred degree in Computer Engineering or Software Engineering
