## Responsibilities The TikTok Data Ecosystem Team crafts and implements storage solutions for offline data in TikTok's recommendation system, serving more than a billion users. The team focuses on system reliability, uninterrupted service, seamless performance, adaptable storage and computing infrastructure, and efficient, affordable data storage with easy-to-use data management tools for recommendation, search, and advertising functions. As a graduate, you will have opportunities to pursue bold ideas, tackle complex challenges, and unlock limitless growth. - Design and implement an offline/real-time data architecture for large-scale recommendation systems. - Design and implement a flexible, scalable, stable, and high-performance storage system and computation model. - Troubleshoot production systems and design and implement mechanisms and tools to ensure overall production system stability. - Build distributed systems such as offline and online storage, batch processing, and stream processing frameworks for reliable infrastructure supporting massive data and large-scale business systems.Successful candidates must be able to commit to an onboarding date by the end of the year. Candidates can apply to a maximum of two positions, and applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. ## Qualifications ## Minimum Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, with 3+ years of experience building scalable systems. - Proficiency in common big data processing systems such as Spark or Flink at the source-code level; experience customizing or extending these systems is preferred. - Deep understanding of the source code of at least one data lake technology, such as Hudi, Iceberg, or DeltaLake; practical implementation or customization experience is valuable. - Knowledge of HDFS principles; familiarity with columnar storage formats such as Parquet or ORC is an advantage. - Prior experience in data warehouse modeling. - Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C++, and Scala, along with strong coding and troubleshooting skills. - Experience with other big data systems or frameworks such as Hive, HBase, or Kudu is a plus. ## Preferred Qualification - Currently pursuing a Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline. ## Compensation and Benefits The annual base salary range for the selected city is $128,000 to $316,800. Compensation may vary based on qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and location. The role may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses or incentives and restricted stock units.
