Software Engineer I

Imprivata is a company that delivers unified access and security management programs for healthcare and mission-critical organizations. They are seeking a Software Engineer I to contribute to their software platform by engaging in development tasks, collaborating with team members, and ensuring high-quality product delivery.

What you'll do:

• Engage in client support to help monitor, diagnose, and triage bugs
• Collaborate with others to design, scope, and implement feature requests and bug fixes
• Communicate with sales/business to meet development goals
• Participate in group activities such as pair programming and knowledge sharing
• Understand specific areas of the codebase; able to work in other areas of the codebase with guidance
• Weigh in on technical decisions that impact specific areas of the product the product
• Develop secure and performant solutions
• Demonstrate knowledge of several core technologies used within the platform. For example: Spring, Spring Boot, Spring Security, Spring Batch, Spring Data, Hibernate, MySQL, Kafka, Spark, React
• Act as Development Team member of Agile Scrum Team
• Complete tasks using Agentic development methodologies
• Track all tasks, estimates, and work logged in JIRA
• Contribute to code reviews, documentation, and implementation of methodologies to ensure high-quality deployments

What they're looking for:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
• 1-3 years of related experience in software development or product development environment with a successful coding and development track record
• Java technical capabilities (Java 8 or higher)
• Working with front-end technologies (such as Angular or React — ReactJS, React Hooks, Redux, Redux Sagas, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, SaSS, CSS)
• Back-end technologies and frameworks (such as Spring, Spring Boot, Spring Security, Spring Data, JPA, Hibernate, REST, and OAuth)
• Database skills (SQL)
• Persistence in the face of roadblocks; ability to dispatch roadblocks efficiently, pulling in others as necessary
• Seeks empirical evidence through proof of concepts, tests and external research
• Delivers code changes to QA in a timely manner that have been thoroughly unit tested and have minimal bugs
• Ability to work in team-based setting with strong verbal and written communication skills
• Desire to be a full stack application developer
• Java 17+ preferred
