Software Engineer I

Dark Matter Technologies develops mortgage and real estate technology products and is seeking a Software Engineer I to join its Engineering organization. The role focuses on designing, developing, testing, and maintaining enterprise applications while collaborating with senior engineers, architects, product managers, and quality engineers.

What you'll do:

• Develop, test, debug, and maintain software applications and services
• Participate in the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and support
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following established engineering standards
• Assist in analyzing business and technical requirements to develop effective software solutions
• Collaborate with team members during sprint planning, code reviews, and design discussions
• Investigate and resolve software defects and production issues
• Create and maintain technical documentation related to application functionality and support procedures
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives involving code quality, automation, performance, and reliability
• Learn Dark Matter products, platforms, development standards, and industry regulations

What they're looking for:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 0-3 years of software development experience
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language
• Embraces an AI-First mentality when it comes to software development
• Understanding of object-oriented design principles and software development fundamentals
• Familiarity with source control systems such as Git
• Knowledge of basic database concepts and SQL
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment
• The selected candidate will be expected to work onsite from the Sharon, PA or Jacksonville, FL office 3 days per week
• Experience with .NET/C#, ASP.NET, or related Microsoft technologies
