The intern will build and enhance front-end and back-end applications, explore AI-enabled experiences, develop proofs of concept, solve engineering challenges, and collaborate with engineers to deliver high-quality software.

What you'll do:

  • Contribute to products and experiences that help Gallup acquire new customers, engage existing customers and connect people with Gallup’s solutions
  • Explore how AI and emerging technologies can create smarter, more personalized experiences based on users’ needs and interactions
  • Turn promising ideas into proofs of concept, experimenting quickly to determine what works and where new technology can create value
  • Tackle engineering challenges by evaluating options, developing practical solutions and improving your work through testing and iteration
  • Collaborate with engineers and other partners to design, build, test and improve high-quality software

What they're looking for:

  • Enrollment in an associate, bachelor's or graduate degree program in computer science, MIS or a related field required
  • Classroom, project, internship or work experience coding in TypeScript, JavaScript, React, Python, SQL or another development language required
  • Aptitude in programming analysis, design and creative problem-solving required
  • Enrollment at a college or university within an 80-mile radius of San Francisco, California, required
  • Availability to work 40 hours per week for 12 weeks during the summer of 2027 required
  • A commitment to working on-site at Gallup's San Francisco office Monday through Thursday required, with the option to work remotely on Friday
  • Eligibility to work in the United States required; this position is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship
  • Curiosity about AI and emerging technologies, with an interest in experimenting with new tools and applying them to engineering challenges preferred
  • Anticipated graduation between August 2027 and May 2028 preferred; will consider 2029 graduates

Benefits:

  • The potential to work up to 20 hours per week during the school year, depending on business demands
  • The potential for a full-time job offer upon graduation, based on Gallup’s business needs and intern performance
  • Option to work remotely on Friday
  • Mission-driven work applying science and technology to important human and organizational problems
  • An empowering culture where employees collaborate with smart, passionate people who welcome their ideas, perspectives and technical judgment
  • Learning and development through hands-on research, experimentation and exposure to AI systems, extensive data and engineering challenges
  • Work in an environment where curiosity, rigorous thinking and questioning existing approaches are expected
  • Work on emerging technology in a fast-moving environment backed by Gallup’s research, science and global brand
  • Work from Gallup’s San Francisco office in the heart of the Financial District, steps from the Embarcadero and public transit
