About this role
Raytheon is an aerospace and defense company developing solutions for complex security and surveillance challenges. The Software Engineering Intern will support the Missile Defense Sensors Software Department by designing, developing, testing, and releasing real-time software products for Radar or Command and Control programs in an agile and DevSecOps environment.
What you'll do:
- Work on an agile team responsible for developing and delivering software for one of the MDS Department’s programs
- Assist and participate in the requirements, design, development and testing of real-time application software and tools, to include development of new work products or enhancement of existing applications and systems
- Participate in internal reviews of software components and systems
- Work on problems with defined scope, schedule, and expectations
- Follow established development practices and processes to maintain the configuration management of software products
What they're looking for:
- • Must be pursuing a Bachelor's or Advanced degree in an applicable discipline and actively enrolled through completion of the internship / co-op session
- • Experience developing software with C, C++, Java, or Ada
- • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
- • Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins), configuration management tools (Git, Bitbucket, Artifactory), and data analysis tools (MATLAB, Python)
- • Knowledge of data structures and algorithms, memory management, and multithreaded applications
- • Well-developed communication, technical writing, oral presentation, and interpersonal skills
- • Experience contributing to a team environment for the purpose of developing creative solutions to complex technical problems
- • Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment with time-critical requirements
- • Ability to promote a culture of continuous learning, cross-team collaboration and training
