Software Engineer, New College Grad - 2027 Foster City, CA

Visa is a world leader in payments technology, facilitating transactions among consumers, merchants, financial institutions, and government entities globally. The company is seeking a New College Graduate Software Engineer to develop secure, scalable, end-to-end technology solutions for digital payments, collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams, and diagnose software issues.

What you'll do:

• Write optimized, secure, and scalable code following industry best practices (e.g., unit testing, code reviews)
• Develop solutions that support both product and technology objectives
• Build end-to-end technology solutions addressing business needs
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment
• Diagnose and resolve software issues using root cause analysis

What they're looking for:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, CIS/MIS, Cybersecurity, Business or a related field
• Graduating May 2026 - August 2027
• Less than 6 months of relevant work experience
• Permanent Authorization to work in the U.S. is a precondition of employment for this position. Visa will not sponsor applicants for work visas in connection with this position. Future sponsorship will not be considered
• This position requires travel 5-10% of the time
• This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, C++, C#, .NET, JavaScript, Go)
• Familiarity with web frameworks (React, Angular, Vue.js)
• Experience with automation tools, REST APIs, and test frameworks (e.g., Selenium)
• Exposure to cloud technologies (AWS), databases (MySQL), or data visualization (Power BI)
• Understanding of Generative AI tools and concepts (framework usage, integration, prompt design)
• Knowledge of software engineering principles, testing, and version control
