About this role
Leidos is a technology and engineering company serving government and commercial customers with digital and mission innovations. The Software Engineer will develop and enhance sonar Tactical Decision Aids and Tactical Signature Guidance systems, troubleshoot complex software issues, learn modern technologies, and support software integration for U.S. Navy missions.
What you'll do:
- Work collaboratively in an integrated team environment supporting a large-scale program
- Own and deliver software solutions in Java, React, C++, and other modern languages
- Learn and apply new technologies (e.g., Angular, Rust, Scala) to meet evolving needs
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues with efficient solutions
- Adapt quickly to shifting priorities and support urgent requests when needed
- Communicate clearly with teammates, stakeholders, and leadership
- Travel occasionally to Manassas, VA for integration and team collaboration
What they're looking for:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited educational institution in Engineering, Mathematics, Physical Sciences, or Computer Science or other degree that provides software development expertise equivalent to standard computer science curriculum
- Experience: Around 6 months of hands-on experience working in complex software environments
- Clearance: Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain a U.S. security clearance
