Software Engineer, Thrive Intern

Duolingo is an education technology company focused on making learning universally accessible. The Software Engineer, Thrive Intern will complete a challenging real-world software engineering project within a small group while developing technical skills through training, talks, workshops, coaching, and mentorship.

What you'll do:

• Work within a small group to complete a challenging, real-world software engineering project
• Develop your technical skills through engineering talks, training, and guest speakers
• Attend career-building skill workshops
• Receive coaching and mentorship from a Duolingo Software Engineer
• Build lasting relationships with others who share a passion for making the best education universally available

What they're looking for:

• Second-year undergraduate student currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field. Graduating in December 2028 - August 2029
• Completion of at least two college-level computer science courses (please upload your official or unofficial transcript)
• Programming experience in one or more of the following languages: Java, Python, Kotlin or Swift
• Dedication to our mission of accessible education
• 10-week consecutive availability from **June 14, 2027 - Aug 20th, 2027**
• Ability to relocate to Pittsburgh, PA
• A GPA of 3.5+
• A Duolingo streak
