Software Engineering - CAM - Spring/Summer Internship or Co-Op

Hypertherm Associates is a design/build company that develops industrial cutting solutions. The Software Engineering Intern will collaborate on CAM-related software applications, modeling and simulation tools, user interfaces, and backend systems while participating in Agile development, testing, code reviews, debugging, documentation, and technical problem-solving.

What you'll do:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and test software solutions
• Contribute to the development of CAM-related applications, including modeling and simulation tools
• Build intuitive user interfaces and scalable backend systems using modern frameworks and technologies
• Participate in Agile development processes such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives
• Conduct code reviews, debugging, and performance tuning to ensure high-quality software
• Document technical designs, implementation details, and user guides
• Work both independently and collaboratively, with mentorship from experienced engineers

What they're looking for:

• Currently pursuing a **Bachelor's** or **Master's** degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field
• Familiarity with programming languages such as C#, C++, Java, Visual Basic, JavaScript, or Python
• Experience with frameworks like .NET, Angular, or React, and tools such as Git, Jenkins, or Docker
• Strong motivation and a proactive attitude toward learning and problem-solving
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently on assigned tasks
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
