Software Engineering Co-op (Spring/Summer 2027)

Collins Aerospace is an aerospace and defense company operating within RTX. The Software Engineering Co-op will work with Systems and Software engineers to design, develop, test, and integrate software features for helicopter and aircraft systems while developing knowledge of software engineering and flight management systems.

What you'll do:

• Immerse yourself in a full-time, Monday-Friday co-op session, that will run January-August (including the Spring semester; it is expected students will take a semester off from coursework to fully engage with this working mentorship opportunity)
• Work within a team of Systems and Software engineers to design, develop, and test software features for software solutions that are integrated into helicopters and planes
• Integrate soft skills (leadership, communication, coordination, proactiveness) into a dynamic environment that provides quality and timely products to internal and external customers
• Travel (domestic and international <10%) as needed

What they're looking for:

• Must be pursuing Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session
• Must have a minimum of 30 hours of credit by the start of the internship / co-op session
• Experience with C, C++, ADA, and/or Python
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
• Ability to draft System and/or Software Requirements
• Pilot/Avionics Experience (i.e. Private Pilot, Aircraft Maintenance, DO-178 Certification)
• Prior RTX internship, co-op, or work experience
