About this role
Collins Aerospace is seeking a Software Engineering Co-op to support the Integrated Applications Engineering team and the development of Collins Flight Deck avionics software. The role provides hands-on experience across the software lifecycle, including requirements, architecture, integration, verification, testing, debugging, and delivery, while collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
What you'll do:
- Collaborate with a cross-functional team of software engineers, integration specialists, and test engineers to design, develop, and deliver robust avionics software solutions
- Support the development, analysis, and refinement of software requirements and interfaces to ensure alignment with system-level objectives
- Contribute to the planning and development of software verification and testing strategies to ensure implementations meet functional and performance requirements
- Participate in technical reviews of software requirements, design documents, and test procedures, incorporating feedback to improve the quality and effectiveness of your deliverables
- Assist with software integration, debugging, and issue resolution in development, simulation, and testing environments
- Clearly communicate technical progress, challenges, and potential solutions to team members, mentors, and stakeholders to ensure alignment and successful project outcomes
What they're looking for:
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the company's immigration sponsorship now or in the future
- Must be pursuing Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Aerospace Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related STEM discipline. and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session
- Must have a minimum of 60 hours of credit by the start of the internship / co-op session
- Experience in C/C++ and Python
- Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
- Prior RTX internship, co-op, or work experience
