Technology, Product, and Business team members work closely together to define and achieve company goals in an engaging and collaborative work environment. ## What You Will Do You will work as part of a tight-knit team supporting Priceline's high-traffic Hotel, Airline, Rental Car, and Vacation Package businesses. You will build applications that deliver value to customers, work on important projects and initiatives with team support, and collaborate closely with Technology, Product, and Business team members. ## Relevant Skills for All Roles - Collaborative work ethic and ability to work within a self-organized, cross-functional team - Strong analysis and problem-solving skills - Positive attitude and willingness to quickly learn on the job - Great communication skills - Familiarity with Agile and Scrum - Experience running applications in the cloud - Knowledge of Git and Gitflow - Continuous integration and automated testing - E-commerce experience is a plus - Experience with open source projects is a plus ## Relevant Skills for Software Engineering - Web/Javascript - Proficiency with JavaScript core language features and functionality, including ES6 and ES7 - Experience with a modern client-side JavaScript framework or library such as React, Angular, or Ember - Understanding of Node.js and experience with libraries such as Express.js, or using Node as a web server or microservice - Experience building RESTful APIs and working with GraphQL - Knowledge of software development patterns including OOP, Flux/Redux, Modular, MVVM, MVC, and Observer - Understanding of responsive design and HTML, including tools such as Sass and modular CSS - Experience with NoSQL databases and SQL composition skills is a plus - Familiarity with server-side technologies such as GoLang, JSP, Ruby, or Python is a plus ## Relevant Skills for Software Engineering - Backend/Java - Proficiency in Java core language features and functionality - Proficiency in another language is a plus - Strong object-oriented design and development skills; functional programming skills are a plus - Working knowledge and experience with Spring frameworks - Strong SQL composition skills and knowledge of big data and NoSQL databases - Web services and API development - Experience with big data solutions such as Cassandra, Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Elasticsearch, and Solr - Hands-on experience with high-capacity and low-latency systems ## Additional Information - Priceline is not currently offering visa sponsorship or transfers. - Priceline has a hybrid office policy requiring employees and co-op students to work from their assigned office twice per week, preferably Tuesday, Wednesday, and/or Thursday. - Students must live within commuting distance of the NYC offices during the co-op session. - Priceline does not offer housing. - The NYC office is located at the Empire State Building, 20 W. 34th St., New York, NY 10001. ## Company Culture Priceline aims to be the best travel deal makers in the world and help everyone experience the moments that matter.
