Software engineering Intern

Maximor AI is building an AI-powered platform that automates complex accounting and financial workflows. The Software Engineering Intern will build and ship full-stack product features, improve AI accounting agents using LLM orchestration, collaborate with domain experts, and own a meaningful project through delivery.

What you'll do:

• Design, build, and ship features across our full stack (React/TypeScript front end, Python/FastAPI back end, PostgreSQL)
• Work with LLM orchestration frameworks to develop, test, and improve our AI accounting agents
• Collaborate with accountants and domain experts to understand real-world workflows and translate them into product
• Write clean, well-tested code and participate in code reviews with experienced engineers
• Tackle ambiguous problems — we'll give you ownership, context, and support, not a step-by-step playbook
• Present your summer project to the full team at the end of the internship

What they're looking for:

• • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (expected graduation 2027 or later)
• • Strong fundamentals in at least one programming language (Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, Go, or similar)
• • Familiarity with web development concepts (APIs, databases, front-end frameworks)
• • Genuine curiosity about AI/ML, large language models, or agentic systems — prior project work or coursework is a plus, not a requirement
• • Comfort with ambiguity and a bias toward action — you'd rather ship an imperfect v1 than deliberate forever
• • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
• • Experience with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.) or prompt engineering
• • Exposure to accounting, fintech, or enterprise SaaS
• • Contributions to open-source projects
• • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP) or containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
