About this role

Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) is a nonprofit applied research division of the Georgia Institute of Technology. They are seeking an intern for the Fall 2026 semester to support systems integration and product development projects for the Department of Defense, involving tasks such as software requirements creation and embedded software implementation.

What you'll do:

  • Creation of software requirements
  • Design of software components
  • Implementation of embedded software
  • Integration and test of embedded software
  • Creation of software technical data packages

What they're looking for:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computational Science and Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering
  • 2.0 or higher cumulative GPA
  • Part-Time Intern– Must be registered for 6+ credit hours
  • Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain an active security clearance
  • Due to our research contracts with the US federal government, candidates for this position are required to be US Citizens
  • Experience with Python
  • Experience developing software in C/C++
  • Experience with embedded systems software development
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical ideas to a non-technical audience
  • Strong math skills and ability to learn complex engineering concepts
