Software Engineering Intern (PHX)

Astronautics Corporation of America designs computers, displays, and electronic systems for aircraft. The Software Engineering Intern will support software development, verification, debugging, integration, and certification documentation for avionics systems and flight-computing devices under the supervision of experienced engineers.

What you'll do:

• Participate in software development activities including requirement specification, design definition, and code implementation
• Perform software verification activities including test definition, test execution, and review of software lifecycle artifacts
• Integrate and debug executable code on avionics hardware platforms
• Generate software lifecycle documentation in support of the pursuit of formal certification of avionics software with the FAA and foreign certification authorities

• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Capability of working independently with limited oversight from senior engineers
• Current accredited college or university enrollment with sophomore, junior or senior standing; making progress towards an undergraduate degree in Biomedical, Computer, Electrical, Software Engineering or Computer Science
• Minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.75
• Programming skills in C/C++
• Working knowledge of software concepts, practices & procedures
• Proficient in Microsoft Office tools
• Able to work full-time onsite during the summer of 2027
• Eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship
• Cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or above
• Experience with Python scripting
