About this role

Medline is seeking a Software Engineering Intern for its 10-week summer program. The intern will work with experienced engineers to design, develop, test, deploy, and support applications for warehouse management systems and e-commerce platforms across the software development lifecycle.

What you'll do:

  • Develop and implement new features for business and e-commerce applications
  • Design, code, test, deploy, and support software solutions
  • Analyze, debug, and resolve software defects and production issues
  • Participate in code reviews and follow established coding standards and best practices
  • Develop and execute unit tests and support automated testing efforts
  • Collaborate with team members to improve existing applications and software development processes
  • Write technical documentation to support software maintenance and usability
  • Analyze business requirements and contribute to solution design discussions
  • Work closely with fellow interns and Medline team members in a collaborative, professional environment

What they're looking for:

  • Rising senior or junior pursuing a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field
  • Experience with Java and/or JavaScript through coursework, projects, or internships
  • Understanding of object-oriented programming principles and software design concepts
  • Exposure to modern front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Angular, or Next.js
  • Familiarity with databases and SQL
  • Experience with Git or other version control systems
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and adapt quickly to new technologies
  • Unrestricted permanent U.S. work authorization
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA preferred
  • Knowledge of frameworks and tools such as Spring, Hibernate, Maven, Selenium, Jasmine, or Karma is a plus
  • Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is a plus
