About this role
Medline is seeking a Software Engineering Intern for its 10-week summer program. The intern will work with experienced engineers to design, develop, test, deploy, and support applications for warehouse management systems and e-commerce platforms across the software development lifecycle.
What you'll do:
- Develop and implement new features for business and e-commerce applications
- Design, code, test, deploy, and support software solutions
- Analyze, debug, and resolve software defects and production issues
- Participate in code reviews and follow established coding standards and best practices
- Develop and execute unit tests and support automated testing efforts
- Collaborate with team members to improve existing applications and software development processes
- Write technical documentation to support software maintenance and usability
- Analyze business requirements and contribute to solution design discussions
- Work closely with fellow interns and Medline team members in a collaborative, professional environment
What they're looking for:
- Rising senior or junior pursuing a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field
- Experience with Java and/or JavaScript through coursework, projects, or internships
- Understanding of object-oriented programming principles and software design concepts
- Exposure to modern front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Angular, or Next.js
- Familiarity with databases and SQL
- Experience with Git or other version control systems
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and adapt quickly to new technologies
- Unrestricted permanent U.S. work authorization
- Minimum 3.0 GPA preferred
- Knowledge of frameworks and tools such as Spring, Hibernate, Maven, Selenium, Jasmine, or Karma is a plus
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is a plus
