Software Engineering Internship 2027

Samsara is the pioneer of the Connected Operations™ Cloud, enabling organizations to harness IoT data for actionable insights. The Software Engineering Internship offers an opportunity to tackle high-impact engineering challenges across the platform, contributing to both backend and mobile development initiatives.

What you'll do:

• Help build the backend infrastructure that powers our IoT platform
• Scaling data ingestion and storage systems that support over 15,000 hardware assets and tens of thousands of customers around the world
• Work across the full stack, creating intuitive user experiences that turn data into actionable insights
• Partner closely with product and design to rapidly iterate on features that deliver real customer value
• Help strengthen the infrastructure behind our React Native app
• Enable feature teams to move quickly and build performant, maintainable products
• Build and maintain software that runs directly on Samsara hardware
• Span areas like edge AI, multimedia frameworks, power management, and real-time data processing in demanding real-world environments

What they're looking for:

• Currently a junior-year student on track to complete a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Physics, or Data Science between Spring/Summer/Fall 2028 or Winter 2029
• This internship is hybrid: 3 days per week in our San Francisco, CA office. Relocation assistance is available
• This internship is a full-time, paid experience - interns are expected not to be enrolled in school full-time while working at Samsara
