About this role

Speria develops software and connected technologies that help businesses in the live animal protein industry improve visibility, coordination, and operational performance. The Software Engineering Intern will support software development activities including feature enhancement, testing, debugging, documentation, and workflow improvements while collaborating with experienced engineers in a production-level environment.

What you'll do:

  • Supporting the development, testing, debugging, or enhancement of software features
  • Writing clean and maintainable code with guidance from experienced engineers
  • Participating in stand-ups, planning sessions, technical discussions, and code reviews
  • Assisting with automated tests, documentation, development tooling, or workflow improvements
  • Investigating clearly scoped issues and communicating progress, questions, and blockers
  • You’ll collaborate with engineering team members while learning how professional software teams plan, build, test, review, and deliver production improvements

What they're looking for:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
  • Basic knowledge of C#, Java, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or another programming language
  • Foundational programming knowledge developed through coursework, labs, or projects
  • Interest in software, data, APIs, databases, cloud technology, connected devices, or operational systems
  • Curiosity, strong problem-solving skills, clear communication, and a willingness to learn
  • Bonus, not required: Git, GitHub, capstone, hackathon, portfolio, or personal project experience
