Software Engineering Internship, Embedded Systems (Spring or Summer 2027)

Apex manufactures commercial satellite buses at scale for applications including earth observation and communications. The company is seeking a Software Engineering Intern in Embedded Systems to develop and improve software controlling satellites, including embedded systems, simulations, user interfaces, and software for microcontrollers and new spacecraft hardware.

What you'll do:

• Interns will contribute to developing and improving the software that controls our satellites, including embedded systems, simulations, and user interfaces
• You’ll be working on improvements to our Microcontroller devices being utilized in space and writing embedded software for new hardware components that will be the building blocks of our future spacecraft!

What they're looking for:

• Proficiency in programming language C++/C is required
• Graduating in the Fall of 2027 or in the Spring of 2028
• BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
• Spring interns should be available to pause or adjust academic commitments (such as taking a semester off or enrolling part-time) for the duration of the 10–12 week program
