About this role
The Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) is a nonprofit, applied research division of the Georgia Institute of Technology. They are seeking a Software Engineering Student Assistant to join their software team, focusing on the design, coding, integration, and testing of capabilities for government and industry clients.
What you'll do:
- Be part of an established software team in the Flight Test Operations Branch (FTOB) of the Air National Guard Programs Division (ANGPD) division
- Employ a modern software engineering process to design, code, integrate and test capabilities on a continuous basis resulting in a mature and quality solution for customers
What they're looking for:
- Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Physics, or related
- Must be registered for at least 6 credit hours with your university
- 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA
- Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain an active security clearance
- Due to our research contracts with the US federal government, candidates for this position are required to be US Citizens
- Ability to clearly communicate technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to perform in a collaborative environment with a cross functional team
- Strong math skills
- Experience with one or more of the following: • Python, C++, Java • Containerization: Docker, Kubernetes • Linux networking, TCP/IP, VLAN, 5G/LTE, IOT (MQTT/Modbus)
