What You'll Do
The role of the Software Quality Assurance (SQA) Engineer is to provide technical support for implementation of the CNS Software Quality Assurance Program. The successful candidate will participate in the development and administration of the SQA programmatic requirements, program support tools, and associated training, as well as monitor and assess implementation to ensure compliance with SQA policies and procedures.
In accomplishing this role, the SQA Engineer will be responsible to:
- Develop into a subject matter expert in the field of software quality assurance.
- Support plant personnel in implementing required software quality and engineering deliverables for systems containing software that are developed, procured, and/or provided by outside suppliers.
- Work with software owners to process software using the Software Management system (SMan) and to assure appropriate Software Quality Levels for software products.
- Perform assessment/surveillance activities on software products to verify compliance against SQA Program requirements.
- Help maintain the software configuration control of items in SMan.
- Create, review, and approve SQA documentation for compliance with the SQA requirements.
- Perform Quality organization support duties, as needed.
The SQA Quality Engineer is accountable to the Manager of Quality Programs and Procedures and the Senior Manager of Quality Programs.

Minimum Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering/science/information technology discipline.
- OR Master's degree in engineering/science/information technology discipline.
- In addition, the applicant must meet the requirements of DOE O 426.2A (i.e., Baccalaureate in engineering or related scientific major, two years job-related experience, and one year nuclear experience; or a DOE O 426.2A alternative).
Preferred Qualifications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a customer-oriented focus.
- Ability to work effectively, both independently and as a member of a team.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office tools
- Knowledge of software life-cycle processes, and experience with software development, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software implementation, process control system design, and/or Microsoft SharePoint.
