The Special Prosecution Unit is growing and seeking an experienced, self-motivated prosecutor to handle serious felony cases occurring in correctional facilities across Texas. SPU is headquartered out of Huntsville, Texas, and offers a unique opportunity to serve multiple district attorneys' offices while maintaining significant autonomy in managing your regional caseload.Location of this position will be dependent upon the applicant and may be a remotely staffed position.

Special Prosecution Unit Special Prosecutor - Criminal Division - Northwest Region About the Position The Special Prosecution Unit is growing and seeking an experienced, self-motivated prosecutor to handle serious felony cases occulring in correctional facilities across Texas. SPU is headquartered out of Huntsville, Texas, and offers a unique opportunity to serve multiple district attorneys'offices while maintaining significant autonomy in managing your regional caseload. Location of this position will be dependent upon the applicant and may be a remotely staffed position.
Key Responsibilities
- Prosecute serious felony cases arising from within correctional facilities, mostly in the Northwest Texas region.
. Serve as the primary prosecutor for all cases within your assigned region.
- Collaborate and maintain strong working relationships with local district attorneys and their staff.
. Travel to counties within your region as needed for court appearances.
Req uired Qualifications
- Active membership in good standing with the State Bar of Texas.
- Prosecutionexperience.
. Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
. Willingness and ability to travel within Texas.
. Commitment to public service and collaborative teamwork.
