Essential Function 1: Teaching 15 credits per semester:
- Writing syllabus and lesson plans.
- Conducting courses according to the scheduled time.
- Teaching to the required outcomes.
- Evaluating student work.
- Reporting student grade.
- Assessing student learning outcomes according to the institutional schedule and departmental requirement.
- Create Moodle version of courses assigned.
- Conduct Online teaching.
- Participate in SLO assessment, curriculum and Program Reviews.
Essential Function 2: Lead the Student recruitment for the SPED Program:
- Lead the sensitizing and recruitment process of SPED students.
- Liaise with PSS and school Principals for release hours of SPED teachers already
teaching. - Liaise with PSS to coordinate the SPED Summer Institute Programs if any.
- Work with the Education Department Chair to schedule courses for the program during
the regular semesters and Summer as well.
Essential Function 3: Student advising:
- Being available to advise students during the registration and new Students Orientation registration periods.
- Provide 5 office hours/week dedicated to meeting student advisees
- Aiding assigned students in selecting the correct courses to meet their goals at CMI
Essential Function 4: Participating in on-going assessment and alignment of courses,
programs, and services:
- Assessing outcomes for one SLO per course per academic year.
- Participating in the writing of the Developmental Education Program Review
Plan and Report. - Reviewing outlines in areas of expertise and revising as necessary.
Essential Function 5: Providing services in support of the ongoing advancement of
the SPED/ Education Department and the institution as a whole:
- Participating in service committees.
- Attending required departmental and Dean meetings with faculty.
- Engagement in department initiatives for improved outcomes

Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- A Master’s Degree in Special Education or Education
- 3-year Experience teaching SPED and Education courses.
- Teaching Competencies:
- Able to demonstrate online teaching
- Successfully maintain student engagement.
- Fluent in computer literacy.
Desired Qualifications and Experience
- Possession of a SPED Teacher certification. Or earned a relevant degree in SPED.
- Community college teaching experience.
- Online teaching experience.
- Experience with or training in outcomes assessment.
- Academic advising experience.
- Evidence of participation in departmental, college, or community service.
- Ability to teach in other areas of related disciplines.
- Experience in accelerated programs.

General Description
The successful candidate will teach SPED and Education courses including Practicum
Supervision. The selected candidate will also be responsible for the recruitment of students
into the SPED program and may also teach the First Year College Experience course. Other

new course in the area of expertise and to do research.
