Spring 2027 Front-End Developer Intern

U.S. Hunger is seeking a Spring 2027 Front-End Developer Intern to gain hands-on experience in web development. The intern will support WordPress development, PHP scripting, database and API integration, troubleshooting, and collaborative learning activities.

What you'll do:

• Assist in building and maintaining WordPress websites, ensuring responsive design and optimal user experience
• Support the customization and development of WordPress themes and plugins using PHP and JavaScript
• Participate in the creation and integration of web forms, content updates, and site enhancements
• Introduction to responsive design and cross-browser compatibility
• Help manage and optimize MySQL databases for data storage and retrieval in WordPress applications
• Support the integration of third-party services and APIs to enhance site functionality and user experience
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, ensuring smooth website performance
• Engage in learning new programming languages and technologies, with a focus on WordPress, HTML, CSS, Javascript and PHP
• Participate in code reviews, team workshops, and collaborative projects to develop a deeper understanding of web development

What they're looking for:

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science , Software Engineering , or a related field
• Familiarity with HTML , CSS , PHP , and JavaScript ; experience with WordPress development is a plus
• Strong interest in learning about web development , backend programming , and API integrations
• Good problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive attitude towards problem-solving
