About this role

Lutron is seeking a Packaging Engineering Co-Op to join our collaborative team and contribute to high-impact projects. In this role, you will help to support packaging design and development projects by evaluating materials, creating prototypes, conducting testing, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver effective packaging solutions. At Lutron, your interest in packaging will grow through hands-on experience, practical skill-building, and collaboration with experienced engineers in a supportive environment.

We consider interns to be very valuable in our search for exceptional future members of our team and pride ourselves in providing outstanding work experience to students from a wide variety of universities and backgrounds.

Your intern at Lutron could offer you the opportunity to work on:

  • Practices and activities relating to sustainable packaging design such as lifecycle analysis, materials selection, etc.

  • Designing and prototyping new packaging using ArtiosCAD packaging design software

  • Generating packaging solutions utilizing common materials like corrugate, paperboard, and plastics

  • Industry standard (e.g. ISTA, ASTM) and project-specific testing protocols for packaging (drop, abuse, vibration, etc.)

  • Driving active projects in partnership with cross functional teams

  • Learning and applying newly adopted tools and technologies to enhance system performance, reliability, and scalability

We seek talented, success-minded people with the desire and ability to make things happen. Our baseline requirements are simple:

  • Your cumulative GPA is at least 3.20

  • You are a rising junior, rising senior, or master's student at the start of the internship

  • You have broad interests in packaging engineering, design and development

  • You are authorized to work in the U.S. and will not require Lutron to sponsor you for any work visa, such as an H-1B, either immediately or at any time in the future. Lutron does not offer work visa sponsorship for this position

  • Willingness and ability to work on-site 5 days per week

Lutron is a team-oriented environment, and you will work within these teams to look at broad issues and identify root causes, not just quick fixes. You must have a willingness to ask tough questions, seek out new resources, and work hard to find the best solution.

Here is what you can expect from our intern program:

  • Competitive pay

  • Housing resources

  • Meaningful project-based work
