Sr Engineer, AI Kernel

Tenstorrent is an AI technology company developing high-performance AI and RISC-V computing platforms. The Senior Engineer will develop and optimize software stacks for hardware IP customers, including firmware, drivers, tools, APIs, SDKs, and toolchains, while supporting hardware-software integration and customer deployments. The role also involves debugging complex system issues, creating documentation and test suites, and collaborating with hardware, architecture, support, and product teams.

What you'll do:

• Develop, optimize, and maintain software components for Tenstorrent’s hardware IP offerings
• Define and build reference software, SDKs, and toolchains to streamline the customer integration process
• Diagnose and resolve complex hardware/software interaction issues during customer bring-up and deployment
• Drive the creation of high-quality documentation, test suites, and integration guides for IP software deliverables
• Partner cross-functionally with hardware and architecture teams to ensure future IP designs are optimized for software usability

What they're looking for:

• Experienced software engineer with a strong foundation in C/C++, system programming, and low-level software design
• Background in firmware, device drivers, embedded systems, or hardware-software co-design
• Skilled at navigating and troubleshooting complex, full-stack software environments
• Known for working effectively with cross-functional teams and external customers to resolve integration challenges
• Able to balance versatile, hands-on coding with high-level architectural problem-solving
• Parallel processing, SIMD architectures (SSE, AVX, Arm Neon), GPU programming (CUDA, OpenCL) a plus
