Patient Food Service 

• Accurately assembles trays for patients per tray tickets following standards. 

• Maintains efficiency and timeliness of tray assembly standards. 

• Set up trayline stations, brew coffee, prepare beverages, prepare patient nourishments, assemble and replenish food for tray assembly following standards.  

• Checks patient trays for accuracy and presentation in presence of TIM Clerk. 

• Loads trays on the meal carts and utilize TUGS and dumbwaiter systems to dispatch the trays in presence of TIM clerk. 

• Delivers and picks up trays and formulas for patient and guest meals from their rooms per sequencing and dispatch from TIM Clerk.   

• Follows tray delivery standards including two patient identifier confirmation.  

• Maintains efficiency and timeliness of tray delivery standard of 45 minutes and scans trays accordingly.  

• Maintains pantry and family lounge stock and sanitation. 

• Passes menus to patients and assists patients with meal ordering, referring to DTRs as needed. 

• Follows appropriate isolation precaution and insulin patient procedures. 

• Collects credit card payment from guests following UCSF credit handling standards.  

Sanitation Services 

• Following proper safety and sanitation policies, maintains a clean, sanitary, safe, and esthetically pleasing food service environment.  

• Clean and sanitizes dishes, pots, pans, kitchen wares, meal carts utilizing dishmachine, potmachine, dishwashers, power hose, and 3 compartment sink in a warm and/or wet environment.  

• Cleans floors, floor drains, and mats (includes sweeping, mopping, using floor scrubber machine).  

• Clean and sanitizes work surfaces and kitchen equipment per specified procedures. 

• May include deep cleaning grills, fryers, hoods, ovens, kettles, and other kitchen equipment.  

• Sorts and removes trash, recycling, and compost in all areas of the department.   

• Replenishes soap, paper towels, hair nets, and gloves throughout department.  

• Uses only approved cleaning chemicals and tools to maintain cleanliness of assigned areas.  

Storeroom 

• Receives orders of food and supplies from approved vendors.                                                                    

• Accurately reconciles deliveries against purchase orders and documents discrepancies. Notifies management if any discrepancies require action.  

• Including checking deliveries for quality, quantity and specifications.   

• Enforces safety and sanitation standards from vendors. 

• Checks that perishable items are received at proper holding temperature and documents accordingly.  

• Uses safety equipment like pallet jacks and carts as needed to move product safely.  

• Stocks and rotate using FIFO and food storage procedures. 

• Checks and discards expired supplies according to procedures.  

• Maintains both time and temperature controls while receiving and storing supplies.  

• Follows label and dating procedures.  

• Ensures proper paperwork for all deliveries complete (invoices, packing slips, etc.) according to established procedures.  

• Conducts manual inventory when assigned. 

• Orders food and supplies as directed by management.  

• Keeps storeroom and fridge/freezers secured and locked as appropriate.  

•  Monitors refrigerator temperatures and respond to temperature alerts.  

•  Assists with manual temperature checks as assigned. 

• Issues food and supplies within Nutrition & Food Services and externally to other customers in other units within UCSF Health.  

• Includes accurately pulling products based on pullsheets, requisitions, and par levels following FIFO and documenting.  

• Delivers orders to requesting units and adheres to established deadlines.
