About this role

About the Role

As a Senior Product Manager on the Merchant Sign Up & Onboarding team, you will own the end-to-end experience that brings new merchants onto the Uber platform and sets them up for long-term success. This includes optimizing the sign-up funnel, designing personalized onboarding journeys for different merchant personas, and driving early lifecycle activation to improve merchant quality and retention. You'll combine strong product execution with strategic thinking to deliver measurable impact across one of Uber's highest-leverage growth surfaces.

What the Candidate Will Do

  1. Own and execute the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the merchant sign-up and onboarding funnel - from discovery through activation - driving conversion improvements at each step
  2. Ship iteratively with a strong bias toward execution - design and run pilots with clearly defined success criteria and measurable OKRs; synthesize learnings quickly and make data-driven graduate/expand/stop recommendations
  3. Establish and track onboarding KPIs (activation rate, time-to-first-order, early retention) and hold the team accountable to outcomes.
  4. Build strong working relationships with cross functional teams to translate new ideas and hypotheses into clear MVP scopes and actively solicit feedback and collaborate on new launches.
  5. Identify friction points in the merchant lifecycle through data analysis, user research, and cross-functional feedback loops

Basic Qualifications

  1. 5+ years of product management experience with a track record of taking products from 0→1 through ideation, piloting, and graduation to scale - ideally at a marketplace.
  2. Strong business acumen - able to size opportunities, assess viability, and translate loosely-defined hypotheses into testable MVP scopes
  3. Experience with merchant or seller-side products in a multi-sided marketplace or B2B2C ecosystem
  4. Strong data fluency - comfortable defining metrics, running analyses, and using data to prioritize ruthlessly
  5. Experience managing multiple concurrent workstreams with competing priorities and tight timelines
  6. Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication skills across business, partnerships, engineering, design, and data science.
  7. Experience developing product narratives and working with marketing and communications to bring new offerings to market.
  8. Comfortable doing hands-on individual contributor product work and mastering the details in a scrappy environment.
  9. Demonstrated curiosity and point of view on incorporating AI tools into the product workflow.
  10. Bachelor's degree or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Experience in sign-up, onboarding, or early lifecycle product work - including funnel optimization, growth experimentation, or conversion-focused execution
  2. Experience building personalized or segmented product experiences (e.g., tailoring flows by merchant type, geography, or vertical)
  3. Familiarity with operational workflows - collaborating with Ops, Sales, and Support teams to scale product adoption
  4. Understanding of marketplace dynamics and how onboarding quality impacts supply health
  5. Familiarity with platform-based product development, partner integrations, or API-driven ecosystems
