Staff Accountant

CBT Company is seeking a Staff Accountant to support its accounting operations. The role focuses on month-end close activities, expense reconciliation, accounts payable support, sales tax compliance, financial reporting, cross-functional collaboration, and process improvement.

What you'll do:

• Participate in the month-end close process, including:
• Preparing and posting journal entries
• Performing account reconciliations
• Assisting with financial reporting and variance analysis
• Support the corporate credit card expense reconciliation process, including:
• Reviewing and approving employee expense submissions
• Verifying receipts and ensuring proper expense coding
• Ensuring compliance with company expense policies
• Cross-train and provide support across accounting functions, which may include:
• Learning all functions of the Accounts Payable process
• Processing employee expense reports and mileage reimbursements
• Entering expense invoices and supporting Accounts Payable activities

What they're looking for:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field required
• 0-3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general accounting systems
• Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to research and interpret sales tax regulations
