Staff Accountant

CFS is an organization located in Grand Rapids, MI, seeking a Staff Accountant to join its accounting team. The ideal candidate will handle financial reporting, reconciliations, and year-end accounting activities.

What you'll do:

• Prepare and post journal entries
• Maintain the general ledger and reconcile balance sheet accounts
• Perform monthly bank and account reconciliations
• Assist with month-end and year-end close
• Prepare financial statements and supporting workpapers
• Support year-end tax preparation and compliance activities
• Research accounting and tax-related issues as needed
• Assist with annual audits and external reporting requirements
• Analyze financial data and recommend process improvements

What they're looking for:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
• Experience with general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and month-end close
• Knowledge of GAAP
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
