Staff Accountant

Lantern is the specialty care platform connecting people with the best care when they need it most. The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, playing a key part in the month-end close process and various accounting tasks.

What you'll do:

• Prepare and post accurate journal entries in accordance with GAAP
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
• Perform account reconciliations (bank, cash, etc.)
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
• Analyze financial data and investigate account variances
• Support accounts payable and receivable processes as needed
• Ensure timely and accurate recording of transactions
• Maintain supporting documentation for audit purposes
• Monitor compliance with internal controls and company policies
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency
• Research and resolve basic accounting discrepancies
• Collaborate with cross-functional departments to resolve accounting issues

What they're looking for:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
• Proficient in Excel
• Strong understanding of GAAP fundamentals
• Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in data entry and reconciliations
• Analytical Thinking: Ability to investigate variances and strong problem solving skills
• Accountability & Ownership: Takes responsibility for assigned accounts and follows through on open items
• Adaptability Skills: Comfortable in a fast-paced or changing environment and ability to learn new systems/processes quickly
