Staff Accountant

Overhead Door Corporation is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its Corporate shared services accounting team. The role supports general accounting activities focused on cash accounts, vendor records and maintenance, reconciliations, reporting, check processing, and month-end close.

What you'll do:

• Be responsible for all aspects of vendor records and maintenance, such as: + Documenting all new vendor setups or maintenance requests + Verifying accuracy of new vendor documentation + Processing vendor changes in multiple ERP systems + Communicating changes with vendors and end users as needed
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations for multiple accounts and resolve reconciling items within a timely manner
• Prepare and distribute weekly reporting for companywide freight costs and record the corresponding monthly journal entry
• Perform weekly check run including printing and mailing checks
• Assist in month-end close processes including preparing and recording journal entries, preparing schedules to allocate costs to multiple divisions, and other duties as assigned
• As needed, support the Corporate accounting team through ad-hoc reporting, data entry, or other administrative tasks

What they're looking for:

• Knowledge of accrual basis accounting and basic understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, advanced formulas like vlookup/pivot tables a plus
• Strong organization and time management skills to manage multiple tasks, priorities and deadlines
• Position is data entry heavy, accuracy and attention to detail a must
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or similar field required
• This is an entry level position, no prior experience required but 1+ year of accounting experience preferred
