Staff Accountant

AZZ Inc. is a provider of specialized products and services for industrial markets. The company is seeking a Staff Accountant to perform day-to-day corporate accounting functions, support month-end close and reconciliations, and work with business units to resolve accounting issues. The role also supports general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll functions while ensuring SOX and applicable SEC compliance.

What you'll do:

• Assists Accounting Department with month end closing of the general ledger, A/R, AP, & purchasing modules
• Posts journal entries, preparation of various reconciliations including prepaids, insurance, and bank statement
• Answers questions from business units and complete special assignments and projects as they arise
• Supports general ledger function, A/R, A/P and payroll as needed
• Ensures SOX compliance and SEC regulations where applicable

What they're looking for:

• Fundamental accounting, internal controls, and SOX knowledge required
• Knowledge of US GAAP and SEC regulations required
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel required
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required
