Staff Accountant

Preferred Risk Insurance Services is seeking a Staff Accountant to support its accounting team. The role handles accounts payable, monthly commission processing, reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close activities, and financial reporting.

What you'll do:

• Review, code, and process vendor invoices accurately and timely
• Maintain the centralized Accounts Payable email inbox
• Maintain payables within the Airbase Expense & Spend Platform, including invoice processing, payment workflow management, vendor maintenance, and resolution of outstanding items
• Prepare and distribute vendor payments
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
• Maintain organized Accounts Payable records and documentation
• Assist with the monthly agent commission process
• Generate, sort, and distribute commission statements
• Respond to agent inquiries regarding commission payments and statements
• Prepare and enter journal entries
• Assist with month-end close and financial reporting activities
• Perform balance sheet account reconciliations and related analysis

What they're looking for:

• 1-3 years of accounting, accounts payable, or related experience
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
