Staff Accountant I

Regal Rexnord, through its Thomson Power Systems America LLC business, is seeking a Staff Accountant I to support accurate, compliant, and meaningful financial records. The role prepares journal entries, performs reconciliations, assists with financial close and reporting, collaborates across teams, and identifies process improvements and financial trends.

What you'll do:

• Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP, including but not limited to payroll, fixed assets, travel and entertainment and other operating expenses
• Reconcile bank statements, credit card accounts, and general ledger accounts monthly
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including accruals and adjustments
• Help prepare financial statements, management reports, and audit schedules under the supervision of senior finance personnel
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data and resolve discrepancies
• Participate in process improvement initiatives to streamline workflows and enhance accuracy
• Analyze financial data to identify trends and potential issues

What they're looking for:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 0–3 years of accounting experience (internships and part-time roles count!)
• Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and GAAP
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar)
