Why does the job exist?

 
The purpose of this position is oversight and management of the Milieu Department, primarily with the Milieu Manager, Milieu Supervisors, Milieu staff, scheduling, and Recreation Department staff.

How does it get done?

 
Supervise personnel under your authority with the goal of developing and maintaining an effectively organized and operating workforce capable of meeting the mission and goals of the facility. Manage all functions within the scheduling, recreation, and milieu departments to include but not limited to ensuring the safety of the residents, staff, visitors.  Train employees on various tasks related to their roles. Conduct monthly supervisions to keep staff up to date on the current processes for completing their assignments. Ensure completion of assignments by making certain all supplies are available, adequate coverage, and knowledge. Identify work hazards, and prompt response to perform deescalation techniques with residents to regain emotional well-being and reengage in programming.

Our facility is a secure facility which serves the needs of adolescent males age 13-17 with a history
of violence and aggression.

Ideal Candidate

 
Experience managing employees;
Creating and maintaining a 24 hour facility schedule;
Have experience with a time keeping management system, such as KRONOS;
Working in a residential treatment facility and or trauma-informed care environments;

Minimum Qualification

 
Associate degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Statistics, Finance, or a related field and three (3) years of experience with a public assistance program, medical, healthcare, educational, or state facility working with policies and procedures, conducting analysis/research, providing or requesting information from the general public, working with communities, working on health or social service related matters, social work/case management, behavioral health, and/or health care. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling five (5) years may substitute for the required education and experience.

Employment Requirements

 
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Pre-employment background investigation is required and is conditional pending results.

Working Conditions

 
Work is performed in an adolescent treatment center, with exposure to mentally and/or behaviorally challenged residents, who may exhibit unpredictable behaviors. This position may work in an office setting using related office equipment, with exposure to Visual Video Display Terminal and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Pushing, pulling, lifting and/or carrying.
