About this role
This is a limited appointment designed to support ongoing laboratory research activities in the Sello Lab. The selected candidate will contribute to the chemical synthesis of small molecules with potential therapeutic applications.
Responsibilities include utilizing laboratory instrumentation for the purification and characterization of synthesized compounds, as well as assisting with general research activities. The individual will be expected to adhere strictly to all UCSF policies and procedures related to laboratory safety, chemical hygiene, and the proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
▪ BA/BS in biology or medical-related sciences or a related science and knowledge of, or experience with, the basic techniques or methods required by the position; and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
▪ Laboratory research experience
▪ Practical knowledge of basic molecular biology techniques
▪ Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
▪ Excellent verbal and written communication skills
▪ Ability to multi-task and prioritize
Preferred Qualifications
• Demonstrated ability to interact with diverse populations.
• Demonstrated knowledge of sound research methods and data collection and analysis.
• Ability to learn complex tasks with general instruction. Able to use experience to perform a variety of new techniques.
