A Store Keeper (also called Stock Controller or Store Manager) manages inventory, ensures accurate documentation, and supports warehouse operations. The role is essential for maintaining efficient stock flow and preventing shortages or delays.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming goods against purchase orders.
- Unpack, label, and store goods in designated locations.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and stock movement logs using inventory software.
- Monitor stock levels and reorder supplies to maintain optimal inventory.
- Pick, pack, and prepare orders for dispatch.
- Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with warehouse safety and cleanliness standards.
- Coordinate with suppliers and logistics providers for timely deliveries.
- Process returns of damaged or incorrect items.
- Organize storeroom layout for efficient storage and retrieval.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience as Store Keeper, Warehouse Clerk, or similar role.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems/software.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift/move heavy items.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
- Forklift certification is an added advantage.
