Strategies Intern

Troutman Pepper is a law firm seeking a motivated and detail-oriented intern for their Washington, DC office to support the federal lobbying team. The internship provides hands-on experience in legislative processes, policy analysis, and advocacy strategies.

What you'll do:

• Assist in monitoring and analyzing federal legislation and regulatory developments
• Conduct research on policy issues relevant to our clients and prepare briefing materials
• Support the preparation of reports, presentations, and other communication materials
• Attend congressional hearings, briefings, and other relevant events to gather information and insights
• Assist in maintaining and updating client databases and contact lists
• Provide administrative support to the lobbying team as needed

• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide high-quality service and partner effectively with diverse groups of people at various levels within the firm as well as external contacts
• Good communicator; strong writing, research, and editing skills
• Solid judgment; critical thinking skills; self-starter; attentive to detail; a sense of teamwork; ability to handle multiple tasks
• High school degree or equivalent; must be enrolled in an accredited university/college
• Experience in word processing and spreadsheets programs and associated tasks
