Administrative Aide 2

Peer Success Leader

Hourly Pay Rate: $14.00 

The Administrative Aide 2 will support the department/organization in various administrative and operational tasks.

 

About the Peer Success Leader Program

The Peer Success Leader Program is a peer support program through Academic Success Coaching. Peer Success

Leaders (PSLs) are undergraduate students whose role is to provide support and encouragement to their peers as

they navigate the challenges associated with adjusting to college. In this paid position, PSLs partner with students to

identify obstacles to success and facilitate behavioral and mindset changes to overcome these barriers. Some of the

barriers to success that PSLs may assist with include but are not limited to goal setting, interacting with professors,

motivation, note-taking, organization, study skills, technology use, test taking strategies, time management, and

utilizing campus resources. PSLs will be trained to use the motivational interviewing approach in their meetings

with students.

Qualifications

▪ Sophomore, junior, or senior classification for the 2026 – 2027 academic year

▪ Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8

▪ Able to commit to both fall and spring semesters with availability for training prior to the start of the Fall

semester

Responsibilities and Expectations

▪ Maintain a 2.8 cumulative GPA

▪ Meet with students one-on-one for scheduled appointments and be available for drop-in hours

▪ Work a maximum of 10 hours per week

▪ Keep accurate documentation of all student meetings and hours worked

▪ Maintain professionalism and confidentiality

▪ Attend all required trainings, meetings, and events.

▪ Assist the Success Coaches and their campus partners with workshops, on-campus events, and promotion

of the available support services

▪ Refer students to appropriate campus resources

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with day-to-day operations of the department
  • Helping with or preparing for department events
  • Answering and operating departmental phones, emails, or other correspondence
  • Supporting department staff
  • Answering student, faculty, staff, or University visitor questions
  • Providing customer service
  • Updating and maintaining department files
  • Demonstrating professional verbal and written skills
  • Using Microsoft, Adobe, or other computer or departmental programs
  • Creating social media material and marketing materials
  • Helping with or preparing for department events

Qualifications:

  • Active enrollment as a student at Tulane University
  • A Federal Work Study Award (potentially)
  • Relative, prior experience working in an office setting (potentially)
  • Another administrative position (potentially)
