Pay Grade/Pay Range: Based on qualifications

Department/Organization: 507301 - Fleet Services

Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm

Job Summary: The Student Assistant supports daily Fleet Services operations by handling office tasks such as answering phones, monitoring emails, making vehicle reservations, scheduling auto detailing, and assisting with general administrative duties. The position may also require occasional use of a state vehicle.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Current University of Alabama undergraduate student. Ability to work up to 20 hours per week in an office environment.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.

Skills and Knowledge: Clerical and customer service skills.

Preferred Qualifications: Prior office or clerical experience preferred.

Enrollment Requirements: Applicants must meet enrollment requirements to be eligible for on-campus student employment. Applicants must be enrolled in a UA degree program and meet minimum credit hour requirements during the academic year: Undergraduate Students must be registered for at least 6 credit hours during fall/spring semesters; Graduate Students must be registered for at least 4.5 credit hours during fall/spring semesters; International Students must be registered full-time (Undergraduate = 12 credit hours, Graduate = 9 credit hours) during fall/spring semesters. Enrollment requirements must be maintained for the duration of on-campus employment. Individual hiring departments and programs may also have additional eligibility requirements for employment.
