Job Description and Duties
The Student Assistant will be directed by the Supervisor I in the assigned Human Resources Office at the Department of State Hospitals – Atascadero (ASH). The incumbent will be responsible for the following duties but not limited to:
- Data entry into various databases
- Provides customer service
- Answers incoming phone calls
- Assists with various office duties and special projects
- Pick up and distribute mail
- Assists the Human Resources Department in other areas, as needed

Working Conditions
- Maximum of 1500 hours per year
- Flexible scheduling Monday - Friday

Desirable Qualifications
- Basic computer knowledge and intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) computer programs.
- Ability to operate various types of office equipment including personal computer, photocopy machines, facsimile,and printer.
- Ability to effectively communicate with DSH-A employees, co-workers, and the public.
