About the Department
The Student Success Retention Coordinator will provide comprehensive academic advising and individualized support to students within the College of Education and those on academic recovery. Assist with course selection, registration, degree planning, and academic policy guidance while connecting students to campus resources. Provide support by developing academic recovery plans, monitoring academic progress, identifying barriers to achievement, and collaborating with faculty and campus partners to promote persistence, retention, and timely graduation.
Position Duties
Bachelor’s degree is required. Must have experience in either of the following: higher education setting (student services, enrollment services, academic affairs, or related area) or in a high school counseling/advising setting. Must have strong communication, computer and public speaking skills. Must have excellent skills in providing strong customer service and demonstrate sound judgement and ethical demeanor. A valid driver's license and safe driving history are required.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree.
Other Qualifications
Must have the ability to interpret and communicate University policies and procedures, academic requirements, campus resources, student engagement, and support services; strong interpersonal/human relations skills; ability to encourage and empower students to make their own decisions; ability to act as an advocate for both the student and the University; ability to identify students' needs for support services in order to make appropriate referrals; ability to maintain confidentiality; ability to operate a personal computer and various software packages; and ability to work a flexible schedule.
