Substation Electrical Engineer (Entry-level)

M&S Engineering is seeking an entry-level Substation Electrical Engineer to perform engineering and design work requiring the application of electrical engineering principles to substation projects. The role involves developing design documents, coordinating project activities, and supporting project scopes, schedules, budgets, and management from conceptual design through construction.

What you'll do:

• Detail engineering and design of substation projects from conceptual design through construction from 4kV to 345kV
• Create/modify design documents and drawings for a project, including one-lines, three-lines, control schematics, wiring diagrams, relay panel arrangements, specifications, conduit and cable sizing/routing, and generating bills of material
• Effectively communicate and coordinate project activities with manager, clients, and others as needed
• Prepare scopes, schedules, and budgets, and insure that schedules and budgets are met
• Take on a project engineer and/or project manager role as required

What they're looking for:

• 4-year degree from an accredited college or university in Electrical Engineering
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills as well as verbal and written communications skills
• Ability to work closely with other engineering and design team members to coordinate overall design package and requirements
• Take personal responsibility and ownership for the quality and accuracy of work product
• Proficiency using AutoCAD or Microstation and Microsoft Office Suite
• Self-starter
• Able to simultaneously manage multiple projects
• Work independently or in a team environment
• Emphasis in Power
• Current EIT License in the State of Texas or ability to obtain the license within 12 months of hire
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required
