About this role
Progressive Companies is a multidisciplinary architecture, design, engineering, and construction firm. The Electrical Engineering Intern will collaborate with project managers and electrical engineers to design building electrical systems, prepare engineering documents and models, and support project schedules, budgets, and code compliance using industry design software.
What you'll do:
- Contribute to the project team to help meet project schedules and budgets
- Manage multiple projects in a timely, accurate manner, monitoring progress against project scope and available resources
- Provide drafting services and final engineering documents consistent with Progressive’s standards
- Assist in preparing building models, contract documents, and photometric lighting simulations consistent with Progressive Companies standards
- Check code compliance information as it relates to the discipline and any effect it may have on other disciplines
- Collaborate with project managers, designers, and technical leaders to understand changes to project design, scope, schedule, and budget
- Use design software, including Revit, AutoCAD, ElumTools or Visual Lighting Software, and Easy Power, for presentation and production purposes
What they're looking for:
- Enrollment in an EAC/ABET-accredited Electrical Engineering Bachelor's degree program
- At least one year of undergraduate studies completed by Summer 2027
- Basic knowledge of sustainability and other trends in the design/construction industry
- Strong math, analytical, design and problem-solving skills, and ability to communicate well
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook required
- Experience in Project, SharePoint, and Teams preferred
