About this role
The Manitowoc Company is seeking a Summer 2027 Cybersecurity Intern to support its Enterprise Cybersecurity team. The intern will assist with security operations, threat monitoring and investigation, vulnerability management, compliance, digital forensics, documentation, troubleshooting, and cybersecurity improvement projects.
What you'll do:
- Assist with monitoring, investigating, and documenting real-world cybersecurity threats and alerts
- Support threat-hunting activities to identify potential risks and suspicious activity
- Contribute to vulnerability-management efforts, including reviewing findings, tracking remediation, and maintaining documentation
- Assist with digital-forensics activities under the guidance of cybersecurity professionals
- Support cybersecurity compliance and policy-management initiatives
- Help troubleshoot cybersecurity software, tools, and related technical issues
- Analyze information and document findings, recommendations, procedures, and project deliverables
- Collaborate with technical teams and business stakeholders to understand cybersecurity needs and support organizational objectives
- Contribute to process improvements, automation opportunities, and other cybersecurity projects based on business needs
- Apply academic knowledge to real-world challenges and present project recommendations or deliverables at the conclusion of the internship
What they're looking for:
- Must be enrolled at an accredited college or university pursuing a bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
- Interest in cybersecurity operations, threat analysis, digital forensics, vulnerability management, or information-security compliance
- Foundational understanding of computer systems, networks, security principles, or related technologies
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Strong analytical, technical, problem-solving, and documentation skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work with technical and nontechnical stakeholders
- Strong attention to detail, organization, initiative, and follow-through
- Ability to handle sensitive information responsibly and work both independently and collaboratively
